E- Ink and Single Purpose Computers

A laptop that does one thing can be more useful than a laptop that does many things. I have two of these and I look forward to building more: (1) “Typewriter"- an older Lenovo that boots X 11 windows that only runs a 'green-on-black terminal word processor (pyroom w/modifications - https://github.com/jskulski/PyRoom)

(2) An old Lenovo perched in front of my rowing machine and it only plays rowing videos on youtube.

The contents of the word processor are saved to file which is sync'd via drop box to other places. If I want to put out a "vomit" draft, I use that. I'm too distracted to have a computer that does more than a thing. I plan on separating my development machine and my communication machine at work to play with this idea. I am after the deep work.
